Resetting the Boiler
Understanding the Issue
Sometimes boilers lock out due to safety issues or minor faults, showing an error code or flashing light. A simple reset can restore normal function—similar to restarting a computer.
When You Might Need a Reset
- No heating or hot water
- Display shows a fault code
- Red or flashing warning light
What You Can Do
Most boilers have a reset button or dial function.
Typical Steps (Baxi Example):
- Press and hold the reset button for a few seconds
- Wait while the boiler restarts
- Check for continued error messages
Please refer to your boiler manual if the model is different.
Safety Reminder
If your boiler resets repeatedly or shows unusual behaviour (e.g. leaking, loud bangs), do not attempt further resets. Call us for support.
